Welcome to

Hearty Acres Farm

Our hope to supplement our retirement with the sales of goats, goat milk and goat milk products, chicken eggs, produce, flowers, honey and woodworking. We want to stay healthy by staying active as long as possible while sharing our passion with our community and beyond.

Who We Are

Our Dream Takes Shape

We are Bryon and Renee’ Dickinson and we started Hearty Acres in 2014 with a dream to buy an old farmhouse and fix it up. This dream evolved into a place where we can live off our land as self sufficiently as possible. We love learning the old ways and find so much peace and joy in producing our own and preserving it. Whether it is herbs and produce, woodworking, fresh chicken eggs or creamy fresh, delicious and healthy goat milk. As well as many other vendor’s homegrown products.

Bryon is a US Army veteran as well as having spent his entire career in the HVAC industry (will someday retire from NEC) so blue collar is where he thrives.

Renee’ was blessed to be able to stay home for some time and homeschool and raise her children by the grace of God as well as dabble in multiple part time jobs that lead her to start her own house cleaning business (Scrub ‘N Bubbles Cleaning, LLC) as well as being a licensed realtor with Trust Realty, all of which contributes now to helping them build the dream of Hearty Acres Farm.

It is a combined compromise of Bryon’s dream to retire and live in the mountains of Idaho and Renee’s dream to retire with a little bookstore on the coast. Both of which would take them too far away from their grandchildren and their church….

We raise registered Nigerian Dwarf goats.

We try to keep all practices on our farm as organic as possible. Avoiding vaccinations, antibiotics, chemicals and poisons in all processes.

We were very blessed to find a great show and milking line right from the start. We have fantastic local support and mentors, and we are not on this journey alone. The wonderful connections that come with this industry and way of life have brought us so much peace and comfort while learning all about how to navigate the twists and turns of farm life and all the regulations and challenges that come with it (especially while still working full time jobs).

The work is never done but the smiles that they bring even on the roughest days are also never ending.

Let's Talk a Little About Goat Milk

Amazing Health Benefits & Delicious!

There are so many amazing health benefits to drinking raw goat milk, not to mention it is delicious. Especially, Nigerian Dwarf goat milk because it has a higher fat content and tends to be sweeter and creamier than other goat milk.

They are a smaller breed and lower to the ground with smaller teats, so they are a little more difficult to milk and produce less than some other breeds. They each have their own unique personalities, and it shows in their many colors and color combinations.

It took me a long time to even try raw goat milk. I was like many people who fear it. My eyes have been opened and hopefully yours will be too! Here are some of the benefits of raw unpasteurized (preferably Nigerian dwarf) goat milk:

  • Contains enzymes that improve lactose tolerance

  • Easier to digest & good for gut health

  • Helps in weight loss

  • Anti-inflammatory

  • Most like human milk

  • Alkaline (not acidic like cow’s milk)

  • Fewer Allergens

  • High in calcium and other vitamins and minerals

  • Enhances nutrient absorption
